Emulation, Copyright & Preservation Policy

NerdHobbies covers emulation for education, interoperability, accessibility, homebrew, and game preservation. Emulators are tools; the legal status of particular software, files, and circumvention methods depends on jurisdiction and facts.

What we do

  • Explain emulator installation and configuration.
  • Discuss compatibility, controllers, displays, performance, accessibility, and preservation.
  • Direct readers to official emulator documentation and lawful homebrew or public-domain resources.
  • Encourage readers to use software and files they are legally entitled to use.

What we do not do

  • Host or link to unauthorized ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware, title keys, or encryption keys.
  • Direct readers to piracy sites or leaked games.
  • Sell or promote unauthorized game collections as a product benefit.
  • Promise that owning physical media makes every copying or circumvention method lawful everywhere.
